Welcome to the Hyde Park Parent Support Network
Parent Support Network (PSN) is a volunteer-run organization for parents of babies and young children from Hyde Park and surrounding neighborhoods. PSN offers a playroom in the First Unitarian Church at 5650 S. Woodlawn, Chicago, Illinois. Our E-mail message board provides a forum for asking parenting questions, sharing child-related information, and exchanging baby items. We have weekday playgroups organized by age, as well as mixed-age playgroups that accommodate a working or studying parent's schedule. We also have a monthly book club and host fun, child-focused parties to celebrate different times of the year.
The range of annual fees is on a sliding scale, from $0 to $75. To join now, follow the Join Us link above to our online application. For more information, write the PSN coordinator at info@hydeparkpsn.org.
PSN relies entirely on volunteers to keep the group going. We encourage members to start up new groups - if someone sees a need, they should feel welcome to fill it. Members have expressed interest in additional activities, such as an afternoon playgroup and regular newsletters. These are all possible when members take the initiative to organize them.
